6th grade science lesson plan?
Hey everyone! Does anyone have a fun way to teach kids about compounds? I am doing fieldwork right now in a classroom and the teacher wants me to teach a lesson about compounds right after she introduces the periodic table, so it cannot be too advanced. I don't even know where to start..any ideas whatsoever would be helpful! Thanks! How Do I Learn the Elements of the Periodic Table?
Okay, so I'm doing a home course with Science..and the quiz is asking me the different properties (atomic number, mass, symbol) of some of the elements. Since It doesn't tell me which ones I'll need to know for the exam..I'm a bit overwhelmed trying to learn them all. Any tips or tricks you guys know? I'm awful with remembering them, especially the ones that use their latin names for their symbols! Thanks! For the record, this is a HOME course so I have no teacher. Just text books. Each lesson has a quiz at the end. My quiz asked me for characteristics of 4 specific elements. I didn't know these, because I hadn't tried to learn the whole table. Thusly, I'm unsure of what questions the EXAM will make me answer. :) I'd rather be safe than sorry. Thanks for the suggestions so far. Also, I don't know if the exam will let me look at the book or not. So reference may not be an option.Im 15 and im really into acting?

Read each clue carefully. 2. Using the atomic number and atomic mass numbers to help you match the alien elements to ours. 3. When you have figured out which of our elements the alien element matches, place the alien symbols in the periodic table below, next to Earth’s symbol for that element. Clues Example: Gasium (Gs): This is the element with the lowest atomic mass number in the universe. Fireworkium (Fw): This element has 15 protons and 15 electrons in its neutral atom. Toothium (T): This is a nonmetal with an average atomic mass number close to 19. Floatium (Fl): This is a gas that the aliens often use to fill balloons and blimps. It contains two protons in its nucleus. Breathium (Br): This element is a nonmetal and has one less proton than an atom of Toothium. Luminesium (Lm): This element is a metal that is not very reactive and has a pretty low atomic mass number. When we round the atomic mass number up to 27, we find that an atom of this element has 14 neutrons in its nucleus. Mustarium (Ms): This is a nonmetal, gas that is very reactive and is toxic when the aliens inhale it. Its average atomic mass is about 35 amu. Lightium (Lg): This is a gas that does not react with other elements. It glows when it is heated in a lamp or vacuum tube. It contains one more proton in its nucleus than Toothium. Rottoneggium (Re): This is a non-metal with one less electron than Mustarium. Nobelium (Nb): This gas is located directly below Lightium on the periodic table. Liquidium (Lq): This non-metal and has the second largest atomic mass number on the alien periodic table. Atmospherium (At): The aliens noticed that this is the most abundant element found in the Earth’s atmosphere. Its atoms contain 7 protons and 7 neutrons. Supermanium (Sp): This element has the largest atomic mass unit on the alien’s periodic table at close to 84 amu. Bonsium (Bo): This element is important for bone strength, both for aliens and earthlings. It is a metal in Group 2 of the periodic table and has 20 neutrons. Organium (Or): This element makes up diamonds, which are not as valuable in other places in the universe as they are on Earth. It contains six protons in the nucleus of its atom. Killum (Ki): This is a notoriously poisonous metalloid with an atomic mass close to 75 amu. Universium (Uv): This is a heavy nonmetal, a pretty large atomic mass number and chemical properties similar to Rottoneggium and Breathium. Semicoductium (Sc): This element is the metalloid with the lowest mass. It has one less proton than Organium. Computerium (Co): This is an element that the aliens use in their electronics, stun guns, and in their communication devices because it is a semi-conductor. Significantly greater than the mass of Semicoductium and has 14 electrons. Ikium (Ik): This is a semi-conductor that is found below Computerium on the periodic table. Spriklium (Sp): An atom of this element may have an actual mass of 70 amu with 39 neutrons. Alloyium (Am): This is a relatively rare metal that is often used as a hardening agent in metal alloys/mixtures. It is the second lightest metal on the periodic table. Metium (Me): This is a very reactive metal, and the metal with the lowest mass on the entire periodic table. Softium (So): This is a soft metal that can be cut with a dull knife, but it can be very explosive when exposed to water. It has an atomic mass of 23 amu. Bananium (Bn): This element has similar chemical properties to Softium and Metium, but is heavier than both. Abundium (A): This is the ninth most abundant element in the universe. It is a metal with 12 protons in its nucleus. Thank you for the help I take school online and having trouble with this. Can someone help me with mole conversions? (10th grade chem) I'm so confused!?
Please help me, I have no idea what I'm doing. I would really appreciate it if you explained how to get the answers rather than the answers themselves. 1. find the number of moles in 23.0 g of zinc. 2. find the mass of 5.0 x 10^20 zinc atoms. 3. find the mass of 2.00 moles of zinc. 4. find the number of atoms in 7.40 g of zinc. 5. find the number of moles that contain 4.25 x 10^27 zinc atoms. 6. find the number of atoms in 3.25 moles of zinc. thanks!.
